Firefox is well-known cross-platform multimedia web browser, based on Mozilla (Gecko) engine. The program itself is limited on features and offers only tabbed web browsing. All the additional functionality is added by extensions.
This page contains a separate information about Firefox 1.5, because the newer Firefox 2 seems to be fork to this version — you cannot ask v.1.5 to auto-uprade to v.2, there are only minor security updates for it. Here's what the Mozilla team says about this:
This version of Firefox will be supported until April 24, 2007 with security and stability updates. We strongly encourage all users to upgrade to Firefox 2.
Some Linux users (e.g. Ubuntu 6.06 users) still can only install this version of Firefox as "latest" from repositories. That's why I keep this page.
